Our second stay in this lovely Cottage, it's an absolute pleasure to visit. The kindest and most generous welcome from Ann and Mike, we really miss them when we leave. The Cottage is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Perhaps the nicest thing is throwing the doors and windows open to listen to the skylarks.

If you have a chance to stay longer than a week, do – there is lots to do in the area. We spent time on the moors exploring the smaller back roads. We visited the national park centre at Danby (not to be confused with the forestry commission place at Dalby Forest, also worth a visit), the Rydale folk Museum, Malton, Scampston Gardens, Helmsley and the walled garden, Mount Grace priory, beaches.... We've still got so many places left to visit

Everything about Laura’s Cottage was perfect! We received the most genuine warm and friendly welcome from Ann, the cottage was warm, exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was wonderfully quiet with superb views and well positioned within easy driving distance of York, Whitby, the moors and the coast.

We particularly enjoyed breakfast at Cedarbarn Farm Shop (just outside Pickering) and an exceptional dinner out at The Plough, Wombleton. There are so many interesting and diverse places to visit, York Minster, Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard, Whitby, The Moors and Railway to name but a few.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Laura's cottage which was a nice comfortable size for us and had all the facilities and cleanliness we could ask for. Ann was a lovely friendly host, and ensured we were comfortable throughout the week. We would recommend to anyone.

Lots of nice sights and things to do a short drive away - would also recommend an evening stroll into Cropton for dinner/drinks at the New Inn!

An ideal place to stay for exploring the local area. Excellent hosts who greeted us with homemake cakes and treats.
