Peaceful and very central location close to lovely gardens and the Cathedral. Bed comfortable and room spacious, with reasonable storage space. However only 1 small chair - desk style, so awkward for a couple - yet the table / desk wasn't large enough to work on comfortably as also had to hold coffee tray, and TV mounted right above it. Would have been nice to have a few comfortable chairs in the public spaces.

Tips for other travellers

A public entrance to the Bishops Palace Gardens is 1 min walk away, and long opening hours mean these offer a peaceful stroll at both ends of the day. If you want to breakfast or snack in the room, you need to bring plate & cutlery. Assumption seems to be that you will eat out - plenty of facilities within reach. The chill bags available to borrow can take a small carton of milk.

If you stay again you may like to consider a superior double room which all have 2 comfortable chairs of a small sofa as well as the dressing table and chair. In line with most guest house/hotel bedrooms we do not supply plates and cutlery except for the tea/coffee making facilities. We do hope to welcome you again.

Great location and nice building to stay in ,with pretty garden Comfy room. Good communication and information before we arrived. Parking is very convenient

This the second time I’ve stayed at Canon Lane and it didn’t disappoint. An excellent place to stay in a glorious location next to the cathedral in the heart of Chichester. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Tips for other travellers

You don’t see staff and there’s no breakfast facility. With so many coffee shops only a short walk this isn’t a problem. I highly recommend this property.
