I loved staying in the off-grid shepherds hut, it was so peaceful, easy to get to without a car (I came by train and bus) and had - almost! - everything needed for a comfortable stay. A fridge in the scratching shed would’ve been useful, and some outside chairs, but other than that everything was very comfortable. Thank you

The walk to boggle hole and robin hoods bay was easy and very lovely.

Thank you for your feedback Emma. Great to hear you found getting to us and out and about via public transport easy. There is a fridge in the Scratching Shed for guests use and we're sorry that you didn't locate this during your stay. For some reason the outside chairs had been folded away and not left down at the huts - our fault for not checking so apologies that these were not readily available. If we had been made aware during your stay, we could have easily resolved. We are pleased however, that you had a confortable and peaceful stay at Meadowbeck.

Meadowbeck cottages are fantastic. Beautiful cottages that have everything you need. So lovely waking up looking over the goats and donkeys. Stunning sunrise over the sea. Lisa and Graham are wonderful hosts, they completely respect your privacy but equally on hand if you need anything. This is our second visit and we will definitely be back.

Tips for other travellers

Meadowbeck cottages are so close to lots of walks. We enjoyed going to Mallyan spout and Goathland across the moors this time. Whitby is close and fantastic to visit.

Tips for other travellers

Lovely walks with dogs in surrounding areas, especially into Robin Hood's Bay. Excellent pub in Hawsker - Hare & Hounds serving delicious food.

Another relaxing stay at Meadowbeck - ideal place to relax & for visiting the beautiful coast & surrounding North Yorkshire Moors. Lisa & Graham are always so helpful & welcoming.

Tips for other travellers

Perrys riverside garden centre - small & peaceful place to be able to wander around & have a coffee & food by the riverside & the North Yorkshire Moors railway runs along side it too. Runswick Bay - gorgeous little place with beautiful stretch of beach. The Falcon Inn just along the road from Meadowbeck - delicious food & friendly staff make you feel so welcome.
