The Baxter House is a beautifully remodeled modern craftsman house with lots of windows and comfortable beds, all with your own private bathrooms. Lots of areas in the house to gather with your friends or quiet decks to read. Depending on how you feel that moment, you might meet a new friend from across the country or world at breakfast, or have a quiet get away in your own private cozy space or deck. The Innkeeper Kathleen is wonderful! We should not forget about our Innkeepers of the true meaning of bed and breakfast that makes all the difference! She greets you every morning with a homemade, healthy breakfast, filled with seasonal locally grown fruits and vegetables, pastries and locally made items from local businesses and farms. Kathleen's breakfast ingredient choices are always of quality and a variety... really is exceptional! If you are looking for a home away from home, this is it! I grew up in Ann Arbor and have been back to Kathleen's numerous times and will always continue to stay there if she has room. I have stayed there for business and for gathering with old friends. Whether I arrive on time or two hours late, Kathleen always greets me with the warmest welcome.

If you are looking for a convenient place to stay, this place is walking distance to many landmark places in Ann Arbor ( Kerry town, Zingerman's, farmers market, Main Street Ann Arbor is filled with great restaurants and bars, and of course the University of Michigan campus and games, UM medical center to name a few ). If there was a walkable rating like in Seattle, I would rate this 99% truly walkable! Kathleen offers you a taste of Michigan often through her elaborate breakfast. She also has a wealth of knowledge of Ann Arbor past and present. So many do not know because it often does not get out of Michigan but celebrated by the locals, such as cherry season, peach season in the summer or take a drive to pick apples and apple cider mills during the magnificent fall colors. Do not forget the well known Art Fair in July! I love Ann Arbor! There is so much to do....of course UM games, museums, arboretums, shows, events and lectures, take cooking classes at Zingerman's...it is endless all in town or nearby.

Just spending time with Kathleen and Matthew makes this the best place in A2. And Kathleen is a fabulous cook!

We had a wonderful stay at Baxter House. From cozy and comfortable bed, rooms, towels, linens, to excellent breakfasts. The house, aesthetics, neighborhood and location allowed you to have a great experience in Ann Arbor. Kathleen gave us great recommendations on places to eat, shop, walk, etc. We literally walked to everything - and it was beautiful. Our fondest highlight was getting to have a delicious breakfast each morning and conversations with Kathleen and Matthew. We were sad to leave - yes it was that memorable (and she is a great cook). Thank you Kathleen for a great stay at your lovely B&B. Highly recommend this place!!!
