A place to recharge your batteries and soak up the tranquility. The cosy wood-burning stove was perfect for dark evenings relaxing in the cottage.

Even in November Locheport is beautifully peaceful. We arrived under star lit skies and woke many mornings to amazing sunrises over flat calm Loch a Ghoille. Unusually we saw no deer on the hill, or otters anywhere! But a bunny hopped across the decking one morning and a sentry Stonechat kept regular look out. Lochmaddy Bay Prawns created an outstanding platter of prawn and crab meat - make sure you get your own order to enjoy. A packed Winterfest in the Dark Island Hotel was full of local gifts and crafts, food and drink and kids activities. Long Island Retreats and Larder packed us a wonderful order of local meat. Sadly Downpour Gin was only open Mon-Fri and we missed them!!! Can't wait to return

I can't put into words how much we enjoyed our stay. We have left part of our hearts at the cottage! The view was amazing and as keen wildlife photographers we were in our element watching the birds and mammals. I think perhaps the highlight was the Short Earred Owl flying across the Loch straight towards us! The cottage had all we needed and was one of the best equipt self catering places we have ever stayed. We very much look forward to returning to the cottage for another holiday in the future. Thank you for everything and sharing it with us!

Langass Lodge is closest for meals out (good), Westford Inn for good pub grub. RSPB do guided walks for Otters weekly from Langass Lodge.
