We have been visiting Low Costa Mill with our grandchildren for 12 years. We have good old fashioned fun & even our very cool teenage grandson loves it & is happy to put his phone away to play pooh sticks on the bridge over the river 🤣 If your family love the outdoors & swimming it’s a brilliant place to make family memories. We very rarely feel the need to move off site. Tracy & Dave are welcoming hosts.

Lovely stay in Thresher cottage, the upstairs bedroom had plenty of room for the travel cot and space to move around too. Great facilities in the grounds and the swimming pool was fabulous. For families in the summer, the whole complex would be amazing so we will definitely be coming back. Small thought would be a couple of pint glasses in the cottage and a non stick pan but otherwise exceedingly well equipped. Really loved our stay

Tips for other travellers

Great location about 40 mins from the coast and York. Castle Howard at Christmas is well worth a visit with all the decorations and themes.

We booked to stay over Bonfire night because our pooch is frightened of the fireworks. It was the ideal place to stay. Tucked away from all the noise, but with Pickering just a few minutes drive away to visit in the day. The cottage itself was really nice. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about it at all. We received a really warm, welcome upon arrival.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend any places because we had a really lazy break, our pooch cannot walk far, so we just chilled mostly in and around our cottage.
