Very warm welcome. Clean and tidy throughout, was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was, no rowdy guests 😉 There were obviously some alterations and improvements in progress but nothing to disrupt and the standard of the barn conversion rooms was exactly what we were looking for definitely a home from home feel and equipped with all you needed. The outside space was good with a lovely lake at the bottom, peaceful enough to spot the resident Kingfisher. Staff were friendly, informative, respectful and polite just wish we'd stayed longer but will definitely book again next year as have family not far away.

Tips for other travellers

A little tricky to find, especially in the dark or the early morning mist but that just makes this a perfect 'getaway' location, nestled in the countryside. If you want to have a swim you need to be quick with your booking, we were only staying 2 nights and unfortunately was not able to book the pool which was a disappointment. The village pub is good for 'special occasion' meals as pricey but you need to book well in advance. You can get a meal in the restaurant on site which was fine, convenient and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend

Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would return. So pleased you saw the kingfisher we just need to get a picture! So that future guests have a correct understanding of the swimming pool booking system - The pool has availability throughout the day for all guests, we have 15 apartments who each have two slots per day included in the price.( we do not open to the public). There are 30 slots available every day. Most guests swim once a day and some do not swim. As the person who changes the booking sheet everyday at summer peak times a max of 15 slots will be used. If you want a particular time slot then the sheet goes out at 4pm each day. ( There is normally one person or no persons waiting )!

The rooms were cosy and spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely peaceful place to stay the night after a hectic day.

Tips for other travellers

We didn't venture out in the evenings as the restaurant was just a few steps away from our accommodation and the food and service was fantastic. We visited Closely, Hartland Abbey, Bude, Woolacombe.

We have had a fantastic weekend and the accommodation was excellent. The staff were all lovely. I would certainly recommend my friends to stay there.

There are lots of attractions close by and I would certainly recommend a visit to Clovelly.
