The stay was wonderful - beautiful location, very friendly welcome and service, good facilities, food was delicious. As I live in NZ unlikely I will visit again, but if ever in this area I certainly would - well worth the stay.

Our stay was excellent, great staff and facilities, and the location is good for getting out and about. The swimming pool was a real bonus given the weather, as was the games room which is well equipped and has lots of board games and puzzles. The on site bar and restaurant also provided good selections at very reasonable prices, the restaurant is a lovely space. Overall an excellent choice at a good overall holiday cost.

Tips for other travellers

Good beaches at Westward Ho to the north and Bude to the south, Clovelly is a great day out if you don’t mind steep walks, Lynmouth is an hour away but well worth a visit especially for the cliff railway. The chip shop at nearby Woolley is very good, and you can eat them with a pint in the pub next door!

We love Moorhead Country Holidays and have spent many happy times there. Staff are genuine, friendly, attentive and extremely hard working.

Tips for other travellers

Dining in the restaurant at Moorhead is highly recommended. We always go for Sunday lunch at Country Cousins at Westward Ho! They have an excellent carvery and a generous selection for vegetarians. It is best to reserve a table as it soon fills up. Also recommend The Thatched Inn at Abbotsham for meals. Arlington Court near Barnstaple is a National Trust site and has a beautiful house and walled gardens to view and has activities for children.
