The caravans and site are very clean and well equipped, and the hosts are friendly but also happy to leave you in peace to get on with things! This was our second visit and the bbq is a great addition. It's a perfect location to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings (including the chickens and rabbits!) or to use as a base for visiting Manchester and the lovely towns of the Peak District. I've given four stars for facilities as it’s a caravan in a field but the caravans are ace, the views are stunning, and it's really peaceful. Thank you for another great holiday!

Trains to Manchester are frequent and easy from the local train station (Newtown has parking so you can leave the car there and drive back to the site). Bakewell is definitely worth a visit - the riverside walk is lovely and there are lots of cafés - and the golf club does a great breakfast!

We have been visiting Shaw farm for almost 30 years and It's always a pleasure to stay with you. The Vans are spotless and comfy, we've talked about a return trip already so it looks like we'll see you next year.

For us it's all about the peace and quiet, from the farm you are surrounded by places to visit well served by bus, train car and (cycle that's if you don't mind it a bit lumpy) walking in the hills or on the flat of the canal, wildlife in abundance on the morning we were leaving 4 hares were seen in the top field a fox walking along the dry stone wall and then 4 buzzard's flew across and landed on fence posts what away to say goodbye.

A lovely, quiet holiday destination, ideal for hikes directly from the caravan. The caravans are very neat and well-equipped. This was our third time staying here and we would definitely like to return again.

A visit to Lyme Park, located just a few kilometers from the farm, is definitely worthwhile. If you enjoy hiking, a visit to Hayfield is also recommended. Here you can take beautiful hikes around the Kinder Reservoir.
