Fern Howe Guest House

Emma and her family were kind and welcoming, and 2 or 3 home made cakes are provided each day which can be taken up to the bedroom to have with tea, which is a lovely start to a holiday on arriving after a long journey. The house is spotlessly clean and newly decorated. As I shared a room with a friend, I was very happy that the floors don't creak if I needed the bathroom when my friend was asleep! There is plenty of parking just in front of the house which makes life much easier. They have thought of everything their guests might need and were prompt in fulfilling every request. The bathroom facilities are really good, and there was plenty of hot water for showers, and the water pressure was excellent, even at the very top of the house. The cooked breakfast was lovely, and orders are taken the night before, so it was served quickly and efficiently. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Lake District, which was enhanced by the comfortable place where we stayed. Thank you to Mark, Emma and family.

Stayed in a single room with great fell views. Deep bath and a cubicle shower too, soft fluffy towels. Room was well finished with plenty of sockets. Exceptionally clean throughout. The owner is helpful and was kind to my 3 year old grandson. Highly recommend Fernhowe.
