Settle is a lovely place and so is The Game Cock Inn in Austwick.

We had an excellent stay at Moor View. The attention to detail to make our stay so relaxing was remarkable - nothing was too much trouble and the service was second to none. The location was idyllic and the beautifully presented rooms, food and gardens made for a lovely stay. In summary, Andrew and Linda provide great hospitality and a warm welcome which is a great introduction to the Yorkshire Dales.

Ingleton waterfalls is an excellent way to spend half a day immersed in the Dales. We chose not to drive anywhere, relying on walking which took more time but was a great way to enjoy the local scenery (approx. 1 hour leisurely walk into Ingleton). Clapham is a picturesque village also worth a visit (we combined with a walk up Little Ingleborough, descending via Gapping Gill and Trow Gill).

Perfect place to stay, peaceful and tranquil. Andrew & Linda are excellent hosts. The breakfasts are delicious and cooked to perfection. Andrew and Linda are very helpful on places to eat and local information. The scone and tea on arrival adds a wonderful touch to a great guest house. The house is immaculate and the garden a delight to behold.

Andrew and Linda were excellent hosts. Very friendly and keen to please.Moor View is situated in a beautiful corner of the Yorkshire Dales with lovely views across to the Forest of Bowland to the south and Ingleborough to the north. Just a short distance off the A65 and a couple of miles from the attractive small town of Ingleton, it is a haven of tranquility. The gardens to front and rear are immaculate. Our room was very comfortable with top quality bedding and towels.Quality of food at breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. Handy parking to rear. Altogether hard to fault!

We ate well at the Lunesdale Arms Tunstall and the Gamecock in Austwick. The latter is particularly recommended. Lots of walks nearby. We did the famous Waterfalls Trail. A superb but strenuous 4.5 mile ramble on a fine day! Some may consider however the £11 admission, like the paths, a bit steep!
