A little gem of an apartment. Right in the heart of old York but whisper quiet. Well kept, comfortable apartment that provides all the comforts of home. We loved it.

A plethora of restaurants, bars, cafes, grocery stores, are right on the doorstep. We particularly enjoyed Nola.

Minster View apartment was amazing! Excellent apartment with everything you could possibly need & spotlessly clean. The location was fantastic being right in the city centre but when you are in the apartment or it’s beautiful gardens all you can hear are the birds singing - so peaceful! We will definitely return & will be recommending to our friends and family.

Tips for other travellers

We had dinner in Phranakhon Thai restaurant which was amazing - tapas style dining and so good. The other restaurant we had dinner in was an Italian tapas - Cicchetti Lounge which again had amazing food. We also had a lovely brunch in Betty’s Tearoom. Beautiful city to wander around and lots of unique shops. Can’t wait to return!

*The river cruise is an hour long up and down the river, see the fortress and other historical features in York from the river. There is a bar on board for snacks and drinks or you can get fish and chips if you pre-order. *There was a chocolate festival on when we visited, lots of stalls in the main town square selling different bakes and workshops to make chocolate along with an Easter egg hunt around York. *The York Roast Co just down the road from the apartment - Yorkshire pudding roast wraps were delicious.

Richard and Leanne's ground floor apartment in York is perfect for a getaway for 1-4 people. We were a twosome staying 2 nights, and only used the kitchen for tea and coffee making, but honestly if you stayed longer and wished to self-cater life would be easy in such a well equipped kitchen, comfy lounge, so cosy and warm. Fabulous shower, and serene views of the Minster and nearby church buildings from both the lounge window, and gardens. Thank you Richard and Leanne - we will definitely stay again and recommend your pad in the centre of York to everyone!

Tips for other travellers

We enjoyed meals at The Ivy and the Italian restaurant near the apartment called La Vecchia Scuola. There are copious eateries sprinkled throughout the city though; coffee houses, cafes, bistros, and restaurants, as well as many takeaways, and mini supermarkets - M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op etc. Explore the lovely cobbled streets, antique centres; enjoy the wonderful architecture. Plus there are walking tours in abundance, and street entertainers galore! Walk the city walls, visit the art galleries and museums if you like, and there are loads of handy guides on the bookshelves in the apartment if you fancy anything else. Above all, York is very English and very friendly. Enjoy!
