Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent - breakfasts and dinners.Location is ideal for biking trails. Would only suggest clothes airer provided in the room for drying off wet gear. Would definitely return.

Perfect location for riding either Glentress or Inners. Ideal accommodation for a mountain biker with secure bike storage, ebike charging and bike wash. Absolutely fantastic Scottish Breakfast! Murray is really welcoming and helpful.

Riders Retreat is an absolutely fantastic and unique hotel that caters for mountain bikers. Not only are the rooms comfortable and pleasant, but the facilities are amazing. There’s secure bike storage…. And I mean secure…. A container, in a shed with heavy duty locks and cameras and charging and drying facilities. Also a bike wash and maintenance area. Leaves you able to enjoy a meal, a drink and a worry free nights sleep after your ride. The food is incredible…. All of it! Murray and all his staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Please if you’re riding in the area call in and see for yourself. Businesses like this only survive if we use them and this would be a big loss. You can stop for coffee and cake, or a meal, you don’t have to be a resident. You won’t be sorry.

I felt very welcomed and taken care of during my stay, to the point where a staff member came to my room to ensure I wouldn't miss my dinner after I forgot I had a dinner reservation. The location is ideal for hikers and mountain bikers who want to be out on the trail but still come back to a warm shower, comfy room and superb food. I will definitely be back!
