A perfect place to stay. The bothie was spotless, had everything you could need and more. Welcome of fresh scallops, black pudding, home made bread, butter, milk, jams and more. The location is amazing, waking up and going to sleep to the sound of the sea. Looking out of the window at the beach, sea and the little islands was amazing.

Tips for other travellers

There is so much to do on the islands. We had a lot of rain and winds but that almost added to the enjoyment. We travelled around as islands each day and did as much as we could fit in and still missed so much. Visited the Butty Bus for the most amazing fish and chips. We picked up my Harris Tweed rucksack that had been made for me before we came out. Bought some lovely things down in Grannie Annie’s honesty shop. Sampled some of the drinks on offer in the brewery. Popped into Mocha Muffins for yummy cakes and coffee on the way to the bridge to nowhere and Garry beach. Went up to the lighthouse at Ness and down to the beach by the port. Did the bridge over the Atlantic to Great Bernera and down to Bolsta Beach. Wandered around Stornoway and stopped for lunch before visiting the most amazing charity shop Bethesda Hospice where I got three amazing items. We visited to Calnais Standing Stones and the visitor centre. The stones felt very mystical. I’m sure I’ve missed out lots. We visited as many beaches as we could, took long windy walks and we’ve never slept so well. Coming back to the Beach Bothie at the end of the day was so lovely. The ferry was so smooth on the way out but the opp on the way back. Very rocky and rolly, great fun and we spotted some porpoises. This was Scottish island visit 13 & 14 and Lewis & Harris definitely up there at the top.

i really cannot fault this place,waking up by the lapping waves of a morning on this beautiful little beach is something else, the pod, is very clean, bed very comfy and has everything you need, the fresh bread, milk and eggs are a lovely touch, Dave and Julie are fantastic hosts and will do anything to help you out, my 4th stay and will be back again for sure.

The most incredible location and accommodation and one of our favourite places to stay in. The bothy is amazing inside and out, with everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The bothy is spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. The location is stunning and Julie and Dave are the most lovely people who kindly provide the most delicious food items to make your stay extra special. We cannot recommend the beach bothies at Kneep highly enough. Wonderful in every way ❤️ We have already booked for next year and cannot wait!

Tips for other travellers

Stop off at the Tesco in Stornaway when leaving the ferry and stock up with enough food and drink for your stay. There is a community shop a few mile away from the bothy if you forget anything. Once you arrive at the amazing bothy and see the incredible beach, like us, you will simply be content to stay, relax, walk and swim in this incredible place ❤️
