The Shepherds hut was a perfect getaway for my wife and I, the hut has everything you need- from all linen and towels through to a fully equipped kitchen . Great hot tub

There is an honesty shop onsite, which is well stocked with items ,treats and food- great idea

The accommodation is situated in a beautiful area and is lovely and well-equipped. A real highlight was the hot tub in the evening after our hikes.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at The Coo Shed, and especially enjoyed the location and tranquil views across the valley from the lounge area. Tracey put us in touch with the local taxi service (Stephen directly across the road!) which was great for transfers to and return to Braemar. The cottage is really lovely, the decor is very on point. Some constructive feedback would be to consider replacing the bright white bulbs for a softer tone, this would really improve the ambiance in the evenings. The fireplace was a bit hit and miss as there is a hole in the heat deflector which for us made it difficult to keep logs burning efficiently.

Tips for other travellers

Stephen - the local taxi guy is very friendly and superb value. The Glenshee cafe is 2 minutes up the road if you want a quick and local breakfast/coffee. There is a supply of many handy items, snacks etc onsite that is run with an honesty self service/pay setup - we really appreciated this. Checkout is 9:30am sharp so be prepared for an early start on your final day!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The white bulbs in the hallway have never been replaced since we took over, so we will change these over, we don't notice when we are in the property in the day. In regards the fire, it has always been like that and there haven't been any issues previously. Kevin will take a look (he is a plumbing & heating engineer) We do offer on request late check outs if requested and the property is not booked to come back in that day. The cottages are 9.30 to allow time for our cleaning as we offer 3pm check in.. Most cottages are 4pm. So glad you liked the area and thank you for the comments

Had the loveliest stay in the Shepherd's View. Cosy, peaceful and beautifully set up with everything we needed. Such a relaxing little escape and the perfect place to switch off for a few days. We'd definitely stay again.

Had a lovely walk in the Kirkmichael area followed by a coffee and cake at the Glenshee Cafe and Gift Shop room just along the road.
