A delightful and large farmhouse with fabulous views across to Hawes and western Wensleydale. Access to the property was straightforward and the facilities were very comfortable - well-equipped kitchen, good storage space throughout.

Tips for other travellers

The hotel across the road has a gorgeous bar and terrace on which to enjoy a drink. Shaw Gill (turn right at the bottom of the drive, walk 100 yards along the road and turn left down the short track to the river) has dippers in the water and red squirrels in the wood - an extraordinarily lovely spot. The walk across the fields to Hawes is only a couple of miles and delightful.

This is a wonderfully spacious house with great views on Simonston and the hills. It is very comfortable, with everything needed for a self-catering household, and tastefully decorated - a house to feel at home in. There is also a charming front garden.

Tips for other travellers

Hawes has some pleasant good food pubs, as well as an array of shops. Some excellent walks start right from the house.
