Hilary and Kevin were wonderful hosts, having provided all facilities to make our stay incredibly comfortable and stress-free. Stable Lad’s cottage is spacious and has a beautiful interior, which made our stay very peaceful and relaxing. It is perfectly located, with a very short drive into Hay on Wye and easily accessible from the main road. It has ample parking in the courtyard and we particularly loved the shared table tennis table outside. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

The drive into Hay on Wye is under 10 minutes from the Cottages and has an abundance of restaurants and shops. The Cottages are also located very close to the Wye River where you can hire canoes to canoe along the river.

I love Glanhenwye, and this trip was to take my new partner to the village of my childhood through staying in the most beautiful accommodation around there.Everything was perfect.

Go to Brecon and to Hay. Walk on the Begyns (and ask for hosts for good walk suggestions).

We were a party of 2 couples and 2 dogs. The cottage was very roomy and met our needs perfectly. The bathroom upstairs and shower room downstairs couldn't have been better for us. The cottage was clean, warm and cosy and everything worked well. Kevin was very helpful and friendly when we couldn't work the TV! Both Kevin and Hilary were fast to respond if we needed anything. The lovely welcome pack was most appreciated as was the pack for the dogs! It's easy to drive to other locations and the surrounding countryside is beautiful . We had a really great holiday and I would fully recommend Glanhenwye on every level.

For fit walkers there's a lovely walk up the hill to the common. The countryside is beautiful and we saw many red kites. There's also a nice (but slightly muddy) walk up the hill and down to the river and back. Again, stunning scenery all around. I recommend a trip to Hay-on-Wye, we ate at the Granary which was very nice. Builth Wells has a flat riverside walk which is beautiful and we ate at the Drovers Cafe which sold delicious home cooked food with lovely, friendly staff which was very well priced. We also had a trip on a narrow boat from Brecon Canal Basin and it was great!
