A superbB&B and one of the best we have ever stayed in. We stayed in the Mexico suite which is a good size room, very comfortable and with views out across the back garden, made even better with the sprinkling of snow providing a real Christmas feeling. Both Caroline and Darren are the perfect host providing useful information and direction about places to visit where to park as the Christmas markets were on. Great recommendations of where to eat along with discounts that they had in place for their guests. A really caring couple, whose only goal was to make your stay the most enjoyable. The breakfast was fantastic and cooked to order, one of the best we have tasted with locally sourced produce. Our only regret was that we had only booked two nights and had hoped that the snow would have been much deeper in order to keep us there that little bit longer. Great company was also had with other guests during our stay, sharing tales and experiences. We will definitely stay there again and will recommend to our friends and family. Thank You Both for making our stay comfortable and very enjoyable. Best Wishes Avril & Steve Holloway

One of the recommendations Caroline had passed to us was the Bay Horse at Goldsborough, lovely venue with great staff and good food, and only a short drive away given the wintery conditions.

beautiful, relaxing, rural with lovely views of nature in a quaint village. Rooms immaculate through out, everything you need is there. Breakfast is scrumptious especially Caroline's home-made jam & granola. The hosts are so helpful, lovely, kind, considerate and will go above & beyond for you. Would highly recommend byways and of course the hosts Caroline and Darren & Charlie the dog.

An extremely welcoming B&B hosted perfectly by Caroline and Darren. Very good advice on parking and things to visit in Knaresborough and Harrogate. Great flexibility with breakfast arrangements. Excellent breakfast prepared freshly to order. Our stay in the beautiful Africa suite with stunning garden and surrounding countryside views was very comfortable and relaxing, The room facilities were excellent including the amount of storage space. There was a good sized ensuite. One minor improvement would be to include additional shelving in the ensuite instead of using the window sill for toiletries. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to others.

We went to 3 local pubs and would recommend them all. They were The Guy Fawkes Inn, The Blue Bell and The Bay Horse. All were a short drive away. It's a shame the Tiger Inn was closed. Knaresborough was an excellent place to visit with plenty to see and do. This was more worthwhile than Harrogate. Very close to Allerton Castle which we attended for a wedding. Close enough to York as well.
