We loved our stay at Dale View Cottage! The cottage was immaculate and well-equipped, providing a comfortable and cozy retreat. The serene surroundings added to the charm, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Upon our arrival, my sons were warmly greeted by Jude, who ensured we had no trouble finding the cottage. The host's responsiveness was impressive, and Phil's understanding of my trauma with dogs was incredibly comforting. Despite our initial concerns, all the dogs we encountered were polite and friendly, which helped us feel at ease. My sons even felt a bit sorry for them, as we had to keep our distance due to past experiences in Malaysia. Staying at Dale View Cottage felt like visiting family. We quickly became attached to Poppy the cat and already miss her dearly. The location is fantastic, with several nearby attractions, charming English towns, stunning hill views, and the picturesque Robin Hood's Bay that we can revisit after more than 16 years. We highly recommend Dale View Cottage to anyone seeking a peaceful and welcoming getaway. It truly felt like a home away from home, and I managed to complete part of my work on the morning of my second-day stay, even giving me inspiring ideas.

If you are concerned about the dogs, you might think twice, as you might miss the opportunity to enjoy everything here. We miss the farm`s experiences here as we want to avoid dogs coming to us; however, we don`t mind as we will visit another farm soon. There are many walking trails nearby (e.g., Sufton National Park, Moor, etc.), all offering stunning views along the way.

Our days out mainly involved journeys of around 30 minutes to get to places such as Thirsk - for 'The World of James Herriot', Knaresborough, Northallerton plus a short run to Bedale and a longer run of just over one hour to Eden Camp at Malton. Places visited all recommended and a mention too for Brymor Ice Cream parlour, delicious.
