We had a lovely stay. The hostel is very clean and friendly, with excellent facilities. Marie couldn’t have been more helpful and was kind enough to spend a lot of what would otherwise have been her own free time chatting with us and the other guests.

Tips for other travellers

The Big Burn walk in Golspie was much more interesting the name suggests and after a night’s rain the volume of water in the burn (more like a river) and its waterfalls was astonishing. Loch Fleet is also recommended for its bird life. We saw a pair of sea eagles there.

I really liked the small touches like having complimentary milk/coffee/ tea. It adds a lot to the stay not to have to rush out and buy such things and then have to travel with bagfuls of left over. The hostel was obviously very well cared for. The play park was also a bonus as it was very close by and really really good

We had a lovely evening walk and trip to the breach and play park the next day.
