What can I say? Wow - absolutely wow. Sarah & James are the most down to earth, friendly and accommodating pair and whilst I'd have just been super happy to see a red squirrel, which I did on my second morning... This place exceeded all expectations. They so kindly left me a birthday surprise and I am so thankful for the (pre-paid prior) pre-lit wood fired hot tub, I arrived a lot later than expected thanks work... Sarah & James were there to meet me and I was all set to jump straight in to a warm tub. The cabin itself is quaint, and suuuuper clean!!! There's everything you need to cook meals (two burner hob) etc. The bed is super comfy, my only suggestion would be to move the peanut box so I could see the squirrels from bed, hahahaha! (I knew it was visiting as it kept opening the lid...) This is a couple that have poured themselves into making your stay amazing, and take time to answer any questions or just have a chat and I hands down left the most relaxed I've been in a long time.... How can you not? Having a morning coffee in a hot tub and ending the evening in the hot tub... Red squirrels - sound of nature and the last night/morning listening to the rain (from the hot tub of course...), as well as a wee Robin coming into the cabin to ask for peanuts. You feel private & secluded, and I didn't hear much outside of the woods & nature, despite being close to the main house. There was definitely nothing even close too or excessive like other reviews mention... The location is great, James even showed me an amazing route to take from Edinburgh, spotted deer on the way in. It's not far from a village... I arrived with everything I needed so I didn't need to venture far,outside of a wee castle exploration 40mins away... I loved the honesty hut - where you can buy eggs, honey (delicious!!!), wood for fire/tub, bird seed & peanuts, and there are endless walks which are all so amazing. I saw several different species of fungi - some new to me and some recognisable and I hear there's plenty of blackberries - I was probably just too preoccupied with looking for red squirrels and colourful shrooms...

Really enjoyed our stay! The location is lovely and surrounded by birds, red squirrels and other wildlife. It was great to be away from the business of everyday life. I would definitely recommend.
