The local pub was a short 30 min walk into Cromarty for dinner and through the day many amazing wee independent shops to poke about in from Calluna the clothes shop to the pottery and a pit stop at the local coffee house where e the smell of roasting coffee on site and brewing was amazing.

Loved the friendly owners. Wonderfully quiet place with stunning views of the juxtaposition of oil and gas infrastructure, traditional fishing village, and rugged hills. Cabin was just the right size, not pokey in any way, just cosy and hygge.

Cromarty is proper village life with everyone friendly and chatty. Although we were "off season" all the attractions were open. Visit the pottery studio, art gallery, cheese shop, museum, and anything else you can find...you will love it. For something outwith the village, head down to Chanonry Point to spot seals, dolphins, and for an appreciation of the imposing structure that is Fort George! For food we went to Crofters in Rosemarkie which will definitely fill you up with excellent food at a good price, and you can continue to watch seals as you eat.

My 3rd time staying and recommend this as a quiet place to disconnect and just relax. Close enough to Cromarty but you really feel “away from it all”. The pods are extremely well kitted out with everything you would need and Jessica and Euan are fantastic hosts.

Lots of local walks and Cromarty is not too far to walk. Sutor Creek for take away food as well as Fishertown pub. Slaughterhouse coffee is excellent down by the ferry slipway watching the world go by.
