Mango Garden Cottages

I had a lovely stay at the Mango Garden Cottages. I stayed in the studio cottage and the studio is spacious and well appointed. Mango Garden Cottages is perfect for those who are looking for a sustainable, eco-friendly accommodation. It is located in a safe area minutes away from trails and the beach. The jungle view studio offers you a great view of the lovely garden and mountains. A nature paradise. The location is perfect and is easy to get around. The host, Sylvia, is a lovely, kind, knowledgeable, and a very helpful person. Her husband, Eddison, is also kind and very helpful and can help you organize amazing tours. I truly appreciated their hospitality and enjoyed their company. I would highly recommend Mango Garden Cottages. If you are looking for a lovely place to stay and true Dominican hospitality, this is it!

Very nice stay, beautiful garden and wonderful view

Lovely and quiet place, we felt like at home. Sylvia was very welcoming, we loved their garden and we are gratefull for all the advices for travelling aroud Porthmouth.

We simply cannot praise Mango Garden Cottages enough. Sylvia and Eddison are the perfect hosts. They could not have been more welcoming and made us feel as if we were staying with old friends or much loved family. We stayed in one of the studio apartments, which was sparkling clean and spacious. The views from the balcony were simply incredible and we spent a lot of time watching the birds and listening to the wonderful nature sounds of Dominica. The bed was really comfortable and the ceiling fan kept us cool. The apartments are surrounded by a beautiful garden - Sylvia's self-confessed 'passion...maybe obsession'. She offered us a wonderful and interesting tour and explained how they have created it from nothing. We learnt so much and it made us appreciate the plentiful produce from the garden even more. All of this alone is reason enough to stay but we have to say more about our hosts. Sylvia and Eddison are some of the kindest, most generous and joyful people we have ever met. They took us along to local events such as the yacht club bbq, a local restaurant and reggae night, and we had the best evenings of our trip chatting long into the night over Sylvia's delicious cooking and rum punch. Just as an example of Sylvia's generosity - she got up at 5am to make us breakfast, lunch and the best coffee on the island as we headed out for an early day on the Waitukubuli National Trail. Another highlight is the loveable medley of dogs (Lucy, Charlotte, Leopold, and Sophie) and the two cats. A bonus pet family to add to the fun! Sylvia and Eddison quite simply made our honeymoon and will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you for everything!
