We absolutely LOVED our stay at the treehouse (Holly). Steve and Dawn have put so much thought and love into the treehouses and the whole site. It’s got little fairy houses, secret pathways and wooden play areas for the children…and the accommodation feels luxurious. It’s a big treehouse with comfortable beds, a real shower as well as an outdoor one!, a gorgeous decking area and fire pit/bbq. The dawn chorus is amazing but perhaps take ear plugs if you’d prefer a lie-in. We wanted to stay a lot longer!

It’s easy to stay entertained- just a little walk along the river and taking the fishing nets for the kids, or a stroll across the bridge into hay on wye and its many bookshops & cafes, or a walk along the river to the warren- so many red kites! We booked for dinner at the Three Tuns the first night which is a nice pub just a walk across the bridge. The cafe run by Steve & Dawn’s son Dan on site is lovely too for a coffee & ice cream

We spent an utterly wonderful relaxing week at By The Wye. From the moment we arrived everyone could not have been more helpful, we were shown to our accommodation and shown how everything worked and left to settle in. Immediately the stresses of modern day life ebbed away with the sound of the river, the bird song and views. Steve and Dan took time to explain where I should fish to give me best chance for my target species. Alas despite all the help I wasn’t able to get one but did catch some beautiful fish. The sauna was brilliant and the cold shower afterwards invigorating. The provided bat detector was great so we could not only see the amazing show every evening, but also identify the species. We will be back very soon for another week of relaxing and next time Iwill get that fish..😀

Hay on Wye is a short 5 min stroll away and has some nice places to eat if you don’t fancy the open fire cooking. The Three Tuns just over the bridge was very very good. Also the Tapas bar was a lovely meal out. Can also recommend a trip to Beefy Boys in Hereford for some delicious burgers and get the Mac and Cheese bites ! Also give the treehouse cafe a go on site for some coffee and delicious cakes.

Loved this place. Accommodation is very well thought out and comfortable. It’s a lovely quiet spot, apart from the bird song. Friendly welcome. Steve and Dawn are smashing hosts.

Just stop and listen and watch the birds. All the pubs are good. Great chippy. Good walk up Hat Bluff and Twampa.
