Eco-Logic Thailand, Resort for Charity

I fehlt so warm and welcoming and just like a part of the big family.

I assume this review is not for publishing, but for your info. My words are a mix of praise and suggestions, but I hope you find them useful, & not too picky, just based on my having worked 15 years in the hotel business myself. What a truly wonderful place you have created in such a beautiful natural haven. Ecologic is a chance for visitors to experience something very different on a holiday to Thailand, and to even do some volunteering with community projects and sustainable gardening. I was very sorry to miss the ‘official tour’ on Tues morn because it was my arrival/departure day, but I think I got to see/visit/participate in almost every aspect of Ecologic during my 7 night visit. I loved being with Ohn in the garden, though a few more rubber boots in stock in the range of size 38-40 would be useful for guests. I thought Bungalow 2 was gorgeous, tho the solar lights on the path were not very reliable late at night when I had to walk back in the total darkness on my own, even with the flashlight (& blaming the clouds doesn’t really seem fair, there exist some solar lights which can charge well even on cloudy days). But I appreciated changing to Room 4 which was closer and had less fruit falling on the roof at night. All rooms have been beautifully & creatively decorated, with lovely personal hospitality touches like the first aid box, reading selection, etc. I know accommodation is really immersed with nature, but I noted perhaps a bit of extra dusting/sweeping/mopping under the beds & side tables would be good, as well as around the wall lights. And just to note that the curtains in Rooms 1-4 are not really big enough to cover the windows to give full privacy when it’s dark outside & lights are on inside. It was fun playing games in English with the village children on Sat afternoon, but when 1/2 of them then came up to the restaurant area & we’re playing & chasing around, albeit not loudly, it did feel rather like a playground area. Planning my onward travel from Pak Song was originally quite a shock when I learned I could only get to Ranong Pier by tac at a cost of THB1200 (a big sum on a backpackers budget for a 50min ride) as no buses or vans stopped in the village (& there was no one to share the cost with). Luckily Sheila got the number of the Grab taxi who brought her back the day before & contacting him he agreed to fetch me & take me for THB400, which was a relief. Hopefully, others will be able to use his services too. All the staff are absolutely delightful, happy, helpful, smiling. You can’t teach people to smile and at Ecologic they’re naturals, even with all the demands of the guests, which must get tiresome, I’m sure. Long may it last! Keep up the great work!

ן had a great and very special experience! I am so glad that I came to this amazing place! The only thing that was a little bit challenging was the thai shower and squat toilet.
