Last minute booking and all went smooth. Surprisingly great little place way up in the northwest of the Isle of Skye. Would definitely go back!

Ela and Johnny at Monkstadt were delightful to deal with. They could not have been more responsive or helpful. The accommodations at Flora’s secret were perfect for our group of four. Plenty of room to spread out. We would definitely stay here again if in this area.

Tips for other travellers

Although Storm Amy had arrived we still made it out to the Quiraing and Old Man of Storr. The wind was blowing a gale. We all enjoyed the “Tasting dinner” at Monkstadt house. I would suggest you get any groceries you need in Portree before you get to Monkstadt.

The history alone of the Monkstadt is mind blowing, the scenery and accommodations make it a dream. There is not a single thing I would change or recommend except to keep doing what you do. It was a truly amazing visit.

Tips for other travellers

Biggest tip is to work with the weather and not against it. Don’t wait for it to clear, just get out there and get the full highland experience: wind, rain, and sunshine. It is all worthwhile.
