Seaview Guest house is the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, since I started travelling in 1975 when I was 18. I have travelled to 47 different countries. Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western hemispheres. This review is based on a visit along with a significantly disabled friend. There are many details that I would consider of concern to a person in a similar situation. The location is about one and a half miles from restaurants, bars and the best Chowder in Ireland (certified by McKenna’s Guides). There is adequate parking inside a gated area. The whole accommodation is designed and provides for the comfort of all guests, those with disabilities to Olympic athletes. The reception/entrance hall is spacious and allows Martina and Brendan to welcome the whole party very comfortably. The décor immediately catches one’s attention. The beautiful tiling, lighting and hand-built reception desk will ease any concerns about the quality of your stay. Off the reception area are the dining area, the sitting room, with comforting chairs and sofas and a further room with a small bar exclusively for the use of guests. These rooms have the elegance of a 19th century gentleman’s club. Beyond the french doors at the end of the hallway is the access to the next floor. There is a very modern elevator with a capacity of 400kg (Appr 880lbs) which will accommodate a group and all their luggage or the heaviest wheelchairs. Wrapped around the elevator is the staircase to the next floor. It is wide and easily accommodates two people side by side. The stairs are deep and will allow you to turn on any stair. Everyone turns on the stairs to view the magnificent view of Carlingford Lough and County Omeath in Eire a short distance across the water. The landing (1st floor hallway) is spacious and beautifully decorated. The room I had with my companion was less than 15 steps from the elevator. The room, locked with a real key, is spacious and well laid out. There is a dressing table with a kettle, cups and saucers, a large assortment of teas and coffees, real and decaffeinated, and tantalizing sweet snacks. The bathroom was large. The walk-in shower is spacious and has the easiest controls I have ever seen, with great water pressure and very precise temperature control. This bathroom did not have a bathtub, but other rooms do have. The beds and linens permitted a sound and deep sleep. There are sufficient electrical outlets to accept a plethora of electrical and electronic devices. The closet is adequate for the occupants of a room with a double bed and a single bed. Once again, the view from our windows was magnificent. The dining room was well arranged and spacious. The selection of breakfast items, cereal, breads, condiments, fruits and dairy choices were significant. The cooked foods had to be ordered the night before. I had asked for an item that did not appear on the menu, and it was provided without fuss or discussion. The breakfast was delicious and cooked exactly as I had hoped. The coffee and tea were hot and plentiful. While enjoying breakfast a local radio station could be heard in the background. The gentleman on the radio played a requested song for Martina and Brendan’s guests who were visiting from far away, naming myself and my companion. All of this and, you guessed it, a beautiful view of Carlingford lough. Martina and Brendan are the owners and operators of this perfect establishment. They have conceived and built a remarkable getaway that provides all the comforts to make your stay feel comfortable and relaxing. Their courtesy and kindness afforded us, was exactly how you would imagine it should be, everywhere. I cannot wait to return for a future visit. Next time I will stay longer and avail myself of all the amenities available. Thank you so much.

Tips for other travellers
The views are magnificent. The town of Rostrevor is about one and a half miles away. It has some really good restaurants, nice friendly bars, and a pizzeria. There is hiking in the Fairy Glen and so much more that I did not get to see.

Hi Kevin, What an outstanding review, and many thanks for taking the trouble to cover practically everything we offer to help make our guests have as good a stay as possible whilst visiting us. Getting such an outstanding review from such a well-travelled guest is priceless, and it is a great reward for all the effort we have put into Seaview Guesthouse since we launched it in 2012. Please pass on our regards to Kieran, and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in the future, when you hopefully can stay longer and see more of this beautiful area of outstanding beauty. Kind regards, Brendan and Martina
