Location: stunning scenery, surrounded by moorland Rooms: We had room 5 which was a suite on 2 levels. Very spacious and beautifully decorated. Large comfortable living room. 4 poster bed extremely comfortable. Sumptuous bathroom with free standing bath & large shower cubicle. Luxury at its best fluffy towels, bathrobes etc Staff: friendly, warm & efficient Bar: warm, cosy & welcoming Breakfast: freshly cooked, delicious full Scottish breakfast 100% recommended. The only negative was that we only had time on the way up to the Outer Hebrides to stay one night!

Monkstadt 1745 is an absolute gem! We stayed in the Alexander Suite, which was spacious, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The king-size bed was perfectly firm — ideal for anyone with back issues. The staff were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We did the tasting menu for dinner and it was superb — every dish thoughtfully prepared with fresh local ingredients and paired with an excellent drink menu. The location is peaceful, remote, and perfect for exploring the Isle of Skye’s best sights. Couldn’t recommend it more!

Lovely stay, just too short. Room was fantastic, small but perfect with wonderful views on all aspects. We hope to return and stay at one of the steadings in the future.
