We loved our stay, particularly the view from our balcony, the home cooked lasagne and the tranquillity. Lost one point on facilities as the room was very hot through the first two nights, with an uncomfortable mattress and pillows, so we couldn't sleep well. Also we'd have appreciated if the breakfast was served earlier, so we could have seen some of the busier places before the heat and crowds.

Thanks for the lovely review, we glad you had a great stay here. The feedback on breakfast times is helpful but it's a tricky one to get right as the village shop doesn't open until 8am. We get fresh baked goods, bread and ham each day - despite being there as Flavio opens, we need time to get the goods back to the B&B and present them for breakfast. If you let us know the night before, we can always provide fruit and yogurt for an earlier, lighter breakfast. Unfortunately, the most reliable way to beat the heat and crowds around Lake Como's hotspots is to avoid June/July and August. May, September and October are lovely as are the smaller pretty mountain villages to visit. The hotspots will always be that!

Every now and then you stumble upon a gem while traveling. Villa le Ortensie is such a gem. A beautifully situated villa with a magnificent view. Silvia and Hiranthi do everything to make your stay perfect. We had an unforgettable time.

On a passé un super séjour à la Villa. La vue est magnifique, la maison est très bien entrenue et le personnel adorable. Il est agréable de rentrer dans cet havre de paix après une journée de visite ! Petit point négatif : un peu bruyant dans les chambres en sous-sol quand les gens marchent au dessus et préparent le petit déjeuner. La localisation peut être difficile pour des gens en moins bon état physique.
