Jackie made all guests very welcome and comfortable. She is patient and tireless in her efforts to give us the most positive experience, and very knowledgeable about Stirling and the surrounding area. My room was charming and comfortable, with everything needed and more. The Castle has excellent security doors and operates effectively without need of keys or cards. Breakfast was varied and excellent: everything from cereal to haggis, and is included in the room price with direct booking. Thank you, Jackie, for an excellent experience. I look forward to a return visit.

Tips for other travellers

1) Contact Jackie ASAP if introductory e-mail with codes does not appear well before arrival. 2) If arriving by train: Cross the road to Murray Place and ascend Thistle Street to Port Street, then right on Dunbarton. Fish/chip is directly across Dumbarton on left. The Back Walk ascends on the right after a few metres' walk.

Jackie was very kind and personable. I enjoyed my interactions with her during booking process and during my stay. Perfect location for getting to all the town sites. The County Library is right around the corner for family research!

The single room on the 1st floor is a bit dark. Opt for something higher up if you prefer/need more daylight.
