We had a lovely stay at The Mallard Grange. Our room was beautiful: beds comfy, seating for two with plenty of lovely touches, such as homemade shortbread, and the bathroom was very modern with shampoo, conditioner etc and robes. Everywhere is extremely clean and tidy. Our room was not in the farmhouse but a building very close to it. It was extremely quiet which was lovely and very relaxing. Breakfast was in the farmhouse and was absolutely delicious. There was a great choice of food: all fresh and cooked to order along with plenty of tea, coffee and cold juices. It was lovely to sit around the large farmhouse table and chat to other residents. Maggie came to join us, once she'd finished cooking, which we felt added to our experience. Overall, a great place to stay!

My second stay at Mallard Grange - I didn't bother researching anywhere else as the location, facilities and hospitality are wonderful and the quiet location amid the working farm allow complete relaxation and easy acess to glorious Fountains Abbey and Studely Royal.

However, just to point out to other potential guests who are not as fit as you are, having a car here is really essential if planning to explore the area, as we are in a rural location and public transport is virtually non-existent.
