Extremely friendly and welcoming hosts to this wonderful retreat. The accommodation is very clean and tidy, comfortable and well equipped. We found the location to be superb with amazing views from every window. Peaceful, quiet and relaxing, what a gem!

The Game Cock at Austwick is warm and welcoming, serving delicious food and is well worth a visit. Likewise it is well worth dropping in to the Golden Lion in Settle for their food and ambience. There are plenty of local walks that are suitable for all levels of fitness and more adventurous hikes are within a short drive.

Ruth and Mike (and animals!) really do give you a warm welcome and you instantly feel at home. The welcome hamper is a lovely touch with some lovely home made goodies from Ruth and fresh eggs from their hens.

There are so many great places to visit not fair from this location... Janets Foss, Ingleton Falls, the 3 peaks etc. Also a fantastic cheese shop which is a must visit. The town of Settle is only a short drive and has some cute little shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. We ate at The Hartshead and had a fantastic meal with great service.

This is probably the best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in. It’s set in a beautiful location, the owners are friendly and helpful and the barn is very clean and definitely COVID secure. They provided an app, which made everything very clear eg arrival and departure arrangements, things you didn’t need to bring such as dishwasher tablets, foil, cling film etc, places to visit, recommended eateries etc. They left a delicious welcome pack of their own free range eggs, a home made cake, Prosecco and even some doggy treats. It was a real home from home and definitely worth a visit.

The Ingleton Waterfall Trail is a beautiful 5 mile circular walk. Ingletonborough Cave is about a mile along a pretty nature trail and is very interesting and it’s dog friendly. In Kirkby Lonsdale Ruskin View and Devil’s Bridge are worth a visit. Hawes has a variety of places to visit in the village and I would recommend the fish and chips from The Chippie. Not too far outside Hawes is Cotter Force - a 6 tier waterfall less than half a mile from the roadside parking, along a pushchair/wheelchair accessible path.
