We have returned for our third visit - including one with my mum, so that says it all! Helpful and friendly hosts. Comfortable and warm, with lovely views from every window. Well equipped. A place to sit and be and soak up the quiet, as well as lovely walks from the door and within a 5 mile radius by car.

Pretty places to visit nearby for those who don't want to walk far. Something for everyone in this area of Yorkshire. Great places to eat nearby too.

Ruth and Mike are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They are there if you need them but are not at all intrusive. The welcome basket and other essentials is a lovely touch and means you don’t have to pack the kitchen sink.

There are so many things to see and do as well as walking in the beautiful Dales. We can recommend the historical walks round Settle and Lancaster. The Settle to Carlisle steam train, train to Appleby and the walk around the town. Kirkby Lonsdale is a pretty town best approached from the river. Skipton and its castle and boat trips. The forest of Bowland. We could go on and on. Of course you could just sit back and relax and enjoy the view.

Arrive as strangers .... Leave as friends. On arrival, expect a very warm welcome from Ruth & Mike. A welcome basket with treats and a wonderful home-made lemon cake. Did I mention the scented fresh roses in the living room area? The barn is spacious, comfortable (including the beds and sofas!!) and very clean with everything provided for a relaxing holiday. The photo's just don't do justice to this beautiful barn with it's fantastic views in every direction. We absolutely loved our week at Tipperthwaite Barn exploring the delightful Yorkshire Dales. We will be back!!! "Thank you Ruth & Mike, we truly felt welcome at Tipperthwaite Barn". Ann, Ian & Buddy

Plenty of walks direct from Tipperthwaite Barn. We enjoyed meals out at The Talbot in Settle. We enjoyed walking "The Settle Loop". Loved the views from Pen y Ghent.
