Hawthorn Hideaway

We stayed for one night on the Kingfisher narrow boat, and it was a fantastic get away. We were both blown away by the boat itself and the surrounding area, with the hot tub, cinema dome etc. Beautiful location, and the view of the sun setting over the canal was so special. There wasn’t a thing I could think of to improve on, we were impressed by all the little touches where real thought has clearly gone into making this the perfect place to relax and unwind in comfort. We received regular, friendly contact from the owners prior to and during our stay to make sure we were happy with everything. We are planning to return again and have had several people asking us for details of our stay, so they can take a look and potentially book themselves. Would highly recommend to anyone.

The whole booking process was easy and the App was amazing and informative. Cannot thank Josephine, Ronnie, Melody and the Hawthorn team for providing such a truly magical and romantic hideaway. Cannot wait to return.

The whole trip was just perfect, I’d been wanting to book for a while but decided to go for it as a surprise for my boyfriend’s 40th. We didn’t want to leave! The location is beautiful and private, all you can hear are the birds singing, the cabin itself had everything we needed and the food in the hampers was fresh and tasty. We both slept really well on that big comfy mattress! We both have stressful jobs where we look after other people (he’s a policeman and I’m a nurse) so to be able to relax and look after ourselves in such a wonderful setting for a couple of days was exactly what we needed! Will definitely be booking again. Also the hosts were fantastic and we really appreciated the personal touches like the card and little door sign with our names on it was very sweet.

We both had an amazing stay here and were genuinely so impressed from start to finish. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The surroundings were lovely and peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind. The attention to detail really stood out, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into making guests feel comfortable. Beds were super comfy, facilities were excellent, and everything was finished to a really high standard. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Definitely a 5* experience!
