We really enjoyed our stay at the Osprey Lodge. We enjoyed sitting outside and trying to spot the many birds and squirrels outside the cabin. The surrounding walks were very pleasant and peaceful too. At night, we had fun picking scary movies from the decent sized selection available. The cabin itself is well equipped with everything we needed as well as being very clean. This is the second time i have visited and will visit again next year. Perfect peace in the forest with comfortable accommodation. Very satisfied after my break.

Tips for other travellers
Bring squirrel and bird food to encourage the wildlife and bring your binoculars. Approach the loch at night to watch the bats skimming the water for bugs. Loch Kinnord and Burn o vat are close-by if you haven’t been before.

Cairngorm Lodges (Osprey) was for us the perfect location. Nestled in a beautiful forest near a small loch, the lodge was secluded, comfortable, roomy and perfect in its woodland setting. Outside, wildlife abounds, with a multitude of trees, wildflowers, birds, red squirrels and insects to enjoy watching whilst enjoying an al fresco evening meal or an early morning cuppa. The pine scent of the forest is lovely and there are plenty of delightful walking trails to explore on site and nearby. Being centrally located in Cairngorms, its easy to explore further afield where there are an abundance of other beautifully scenic lochs, forest trails and traditional towns and villages. The perfect place for people like us who love wildlife, peace and quiet. The Colwills had a wonderful week here.

Lovely secluded location, just a few other cabins nearby but all positioned for maximum privacy. Red squirrels and various forest birds around the cabin. Some short walks right from the cabin. The cabin is cozy and has a log burner with more than enough wood supply. Beds are comfortable and clean.

Tips for other travellers
Take some birdseed and nuts for squirrels. Take some torches for night time walks in the woods. Take own BBQ coals. Read the information pack in the cabin. It's very well put together with lots of good info on the area. Visit burn o vat and do the 6km loop (can find this on walkhighlands app.
