Cairngorm Bothies

Great location and atmosphere — a perfect spot for a quiet weekend in nature. Beautiful forest surroundings and peaceful walking trails. Wonderful stay even for very tall people — just remember the doorframe.

Great facilities and it was all as described, very clean and well equipped. The communications about how to use the heating/water were very confusing and could be much clearer and simpler. It mentioned to have the fire on for 'some time' before having a shower. It never mentioned that once the fire was on that the water would stay hot for a while. It would have been good to know to put the fire on when we arrive, the water will be warm in ?? hours and will stay warm for ?? hours. More information would have been very useful as we found the water to still be warm 12 hours later.

Facilities good, understand about the hot water, no fire, no water. A usable knife would be helpful, bread knife would suffice as everything was blunt. A few essentials salt/pepper would be a good touch too. Nothing they can do about kids on scrambler bikes adjacent to their property but they stop after an hour. Otherwise very peaceful.

Really fabulous accommodation in a beautiful spot and exactly the ‘get away from it all’ stay I was looking for. The bothies are beautifully constructed and have everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Very happy to have been able to stay at Cairngorm Bothies!
