Right on the seafront and minutes from the station and centre. Managed a visit to Dawlish and Newton Abbottvia train although only stayed for two nights. Hosts very welcoming and their home cooked breakfasts are exceptional with a great variety and cooked to order - and not just a -full English'. Personal touch. Room was cosy clean and comfortable. Felt I was there a lot longer. It was my first visit to Devon and I want to return.

Not much available in the way of a meal in the evening in Tynemouth to eat in as I had visited out of season. Lots of cafes and tea rooms daytime. Pearls is a lovely cafe with delicious cakes. I opted for a curry in the Royal restaurant. Lovely staff and freshly cooked meals.

Lovely hotel situated on the sea front. The hotel is very clean and our room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully cooked with excellent ingredients. Hosts Sandie and Ian were great and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend.

Sandy and Ian were great hosts as usual, nothing is never too much for them. The breakfasts were always well cooked and presented, Kim and Dan assisted with again nothing too much trouble for them. Our room was clean and tidy, bins etc sorted every day.

Once we have parked up for the week, we usually use the bus or train to get from a to b, so the local restaurants we use are Trade Winds but that has to be booked in advance and Finns fish and chip restaurant. There is a tea room just along from Finns which was very nice, but large helpings, Venus and the cinema venue were our options just for coffee. Shaldon is nice to visit, go by ferry if it is dry. Dawlish, Exeter, Dartmouth, go by the steam train and ferry. Just a few ideas.
