Very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the tea and cake on arrival . Good quality hospitality tray. Derbyshire oatcake was a special treat for breakfast.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sheldon House, and Caroline and Michael were great hosts. The breakfasts were superb and facilities top-notch. They were very helpful and recommended some great walks.

Tips for other travellers
I thoroughly enjoyed my walk to Bakewell and back via Lathkil Dale although I am a fairly strong walker. Try to take in the Lathkil Hotel in Over Haddon. I have a special interest in the area as my ancestor - Rev. Robert Lomas was vicar of Monyash and Chelmorton from 1734 to 1776 and he tragically died when he fell into Lathkil Dale at Parson's Tor, which is named after him. Most of the locals I spoke to had heard of the story.

Thank you for the review John. We are very pleased that your stay was comfortable and that it helped with your research into Robert Lomas

This was the best B&B my wife & I have stayed at to date, and from our experience fully justified the various awards displayed. The owners Caroline & Mike made us welcome and feel at home from the start. They gave us all the necessary as well as more interesting information whilst we enjoyed a cup of tea and home made biscuits. Our room was welcoming and spotless, the bed very comfortable, hot water always available in the wash basin and shower. Adjoining the house was a small, beautifully kept, cottage style garden with chairs and a table which we could use. The included Full English Breakfast was quality, copious and perfectly cooked. The selection of 3 jams, all home made and delicious varied each day.
