Extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. On arrival we were greeted with tea, cake and a chat in the garden. The house is impeccably clean and tastefully furnished. Our room was attractive, cosy and comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and filling, with tasty home-made ingredients.

Tips for other travellers

Ideal and essential for walkers on the Peak Pilgrimage. It's a good idea to book your evening meal in advance at the Bull's Head, not only because it's the only pub or restaurant in the village but also because the food is good and the staff are very attentive.

We were made so welcome when we arrived and were immediately offered tea and delicious home made cake. We had a lovely , spotlessly clean, comfortable room overlooking the garden and fields beyond. The breakfasts were excellent with a lovely choice of homemade goodies, granola, bread and 8 different flavours of jams during our 4 night stay plus marmalade, plus an excellent cooked breakfast too. Caroline and Mike work very hard to make sure guests are happy. Everything is very high quality which sets you up for the day ahead. We would certainly recommend a visit to Sheldon House and we hope to visit again. Thank you for excellent instructions to Wye Bakery, we found it very easily.

Tips for other travellers

The Bulls Head just round the corner from Sheldon House was excellent for an evening meal, beware large portions! Sheldon House is perfectly situated for lots of local attractions, just book it ,you won’t be disappointed.

We were looked after so well, first class service, myself and my husband and friends were so impressed with everything, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best places we’ve ever stayed at, we all hope to come back for another visit in the future, so thank you both once again for a fantastic stay from all from all of us.
