Kirkwirral Guest House

Kirkwirral has to be one of the best B&Bs I’ve ever stayed in. It has a spotlessly clean, supremely comfortable and the breakfast was cooked to perfection. Yvonne is a lovely, thoughtful host. She has made every effort to design, equip and maintain Kirrkwirral to the highest standard. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Kirkwirral is absolutely fabulous — a real gem tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful location alongside a stream and woodland. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear how much thought and attention to detail has gone into everything. The guest bedrooms and onsite bathrooms are immaculate and beautifully designed, and the dining room continues that same high standard. Breakfast deserves a special mention. There’s a great choice of cereals, fresh fruit, tea and coffee, and fruit juices, followed by a classic freshly cooked Full English with ingredients chosen to your liking — including haggis, of course! Everything was delicious and certainly set us up for the day. The outside facilities are equally impressive, with a sauna, hot tub and a lovely guest lounge area, making it a fantastic place to relax and unwind. Kirkwirral really is a little gem and a very lucky find. Jim and Yvonne clearly work tirelessly and take enormous pride in their guest house, and it shows in every detail. They are a genuinely lovely couple who go out of their way to make sure their guests have a wonderful stay. They deserve every success and, if you’re lucky enough to stay at Kirkwirral, please treat them and their beautiful guest house with the same care and respect that they show to their guests. They really are two lovely people who deserve to be appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending Kirkwirral. We’ll certainly be back. Craig Alex Chris

The hosts could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The room was excellent and very modern. Location was also great for either Dumfries itself or for exploring the local area. Great breakfast too. Excellent!!
