Anne, the hostess, is very friendly and helpful. Everything is very well organized. The cottage is completly equipped and lovely furnished. From the first moment we felt like at home.

Tips for other travellers

Near the cottage, in Drymen, are two very good restaurants (Drymen Inn, the Clachan). From there you can make a lot of different excursions.

Absolutely loved our stay at Ballat Smithy Cottage. Anne was so fabulous, friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much bother. The cottage sits in a lovely area and there is lots to do. The lasses loved it!! We’ll be back!!

Tips for other travellers

So much to see and do, we did lots in the time we were there with the lasses. Thoroughly recommend down at the loch itself, lots to do. The aquarium was fantastic, we did a round of mini golf and a boat trip to name a few. Lots of lovely walks and trails. The lasses really loved the faerie trail in Luss and the waterfall walk up at the lodge in Aberfoyle which was push chair accessible which was great especially for our three year old. We had a lovely dinner at the cross keys pub, that’s a must visit. So many more things to do so would need to visit the area a good few times.
