Lovely place, I was very happy for my three nights. My only problem was the fire escape light in my room. I have never stayed in a room with a green light and a fire escape sign over the bedroom door before - the light was so bright it spoiled my sleep.

Tips for other travellers

Wigtown is a lovely place to stay - this was out of season, but plenty of bookshops and places for coffee! There was no traffic, and everyone I met was friendly.

Booktown bunkhouse is a great place to stay,located in the centre of Wigtown,close to all ameneties,loved it!

Tips for other travellers

The bus stops are very close to the bunkhouse,there are amazing tearooms and cafes,a co-op,chippy and free public toilets. There are some nice walks and a fabulous bird hide at the nature reserve,I also walkwd down to Bladnoch where there is a lovely distillery.

Lovely bunkhouse in a great location. Close to amenities and there's lots of free parking. The rooms are really nice, the bathroom is great.
