It's our 2nd stay at this wonderful hotel so that in itself speaks volumes. And we'll definitely be back for another visit. Perfectly situated away from the maddening crowds of the tourist hotspots and coupled with the excellent accommodation, super friendly staff and superb food makes this a must stay place when visiting the lakes. It's also very reasonably priced compared with other establishments we reviewed. I thoroughly recommend The Old Ginn House for your vacation or if you're just meeting up with friends and family for a nice relaxing meal and drinks... Most attractions in The Lake District abuse extremely high prices whilst TOGH offer really good value for money. Well done to the owners and look forward to visiting you again soon... 10 out of 10 Jo - Portsmouth

The apartment was finished to a very high standard, and equipped to the same high standard. Glassware and cutlery provided were far more than what you would normally expect, eg. 9 each of pint, tumbler and tall glasses, 6 wine glasses, plus 12each knives, forks and spoons. Overall, the smartest, cleanest and best equipped holiday apartment we have ever encountered. The restaurant didn’t disappoint either, tasty and plentiful food, served promptly by friendly staff. The same goes for the bar and bar staff.

The Old Ginn House is in a perfect situation to cater for both the beaches and the lakes, and obviously the scenery is stunning. High points were Lowther Castle, suggested by David the owner, well worth a visit. The 6yr old twins absolutely loved the large play fort. Also, Rheged had a great soft play area and artistic craft activities which they both loved. Finally the locals that came to the hotel made everyone feel welcome, if you want to know anything the bar is the go to place to ask, someone will be sure to know.

Stayed for 1 week in the apartment. Had 3 meals in the restaurant. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and willing to help. One unusual thing - our 1st meal in the restaurant - we could order drinks at our table. We then had Sunday lunch and you had to get your own drinks from the bar, this meant our meals were going cold. Not ideal. Car park can be quite hectic at peak meal times

Thank you for taking the time to place a review. We hope that you enjoyed your stay in our apartment. Our restaurant is very busy and when possible our staff will take drink orders at the table but primarily customers do order drinks at the bar.
