This is the best place to stay anywhere on earth. I'm not exaggerating. Freshest air, beautiful vistas, surrounded by nature and a place to put time and history in perspective. Not to mention all the comforts of home.

Unplug here and listen to the birds, look at the night skies, clouds and sunsets. Read a book. Take a walk. Breathe deep.

Shawn and all the staff were incredibly accommodating, generous with their time and knowledge. They lined me in with all my interests I never heard a generic response.

The site is easily accessible for foot travellers- the bus goes straight past the door. The views are incredible. May you experience what ever brings you most quickly to a peaceful mind and kind heart.

Cottage is very comfortable and has all the facilities you need for a great stay. Shawn is very kind in checking in to make sure everything is OK. Kitchen is very well equipped. Cottage cleaned to a high standard. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

House is in a perfect spot, being in between Stones of Stenness and Ring of Brodgar and within easy reach of ither areas. Broch of Gurness us a must see as well as Yesnaby. Lots of wildlife about too.

The garage across from the Maeshowe visitor centre has extremely good home made cakes - recommended
