Very friendly and helpful. We were delayed by ferry problems but owners son told all we needed to know. Very helpful advice about excursions we could do. Useful selection of maps available to borrow. Good breakfast with lovely home made bread.

Tips for other travellers

Storage space for clothes in our room was slightly limited. Several good places to eat locally - including the excellent fish and chip shop. Beware if you book on the Mallaig to Armadale ferry. Ours was cancelled only 30 mins before departure time. It is a scenic drive round but takes three hours!

Vanessa and Martin are loveable hosts. We appreciated each recommendation from Vanessa that led us to more lonely and unknown parts of skye. We enjoyed the great breakfast with the self-baked bread from Martin. :-)

Thanks to Vanessa for welcoming us to this superb accommodation. Very nice room and very comfortable (very comfortable bedding) Vanessa is very attentive and always smiling. She advised us a distillery (Tobahaig) and we were not disappointed. The breakfast is very complete and perfect. The location of the lodge is perfect for discovering on Skye Island. You feel at home there, everything is calm, and we highly recommend Otter Lodge ! Sophie and Patrick (from France)
