Great location. Bokked 3 nights ened up staying 5 nights. Used as a base & used buses to get about.

Very rarely see Ruaridh but when we do he is lovely. Easily contacted by WhatsApp. We come here regularly as it’s so handy for the short walk into village for the Star Hotel, Golden Wok and the shops. The views are stunning and buses plentiful as well as regular trains. We. Booked for 2 nights originally but then booked an extra night. This is our 3rd visit this year alone. No EHU but fresh water and Elsan and grey disposal. This is a gem we must keep so please use the honesty box if you don’t book online.

This is a very basic absolutely no frills farmyard site, we paid £10 to stopover 1 night to break up out journey and it was perfect for that. We parked close to the railway line, actually almost on the platform 🙂, it didn't disturb us and we enjoyed watching the few trains that did pass by, short walk into the lovely main street for food at the nearby Gordon hotel, wee bit of banter and chat with the barman, good nights sleep and no rush to leave the site in the morning. We did call the number to speak to the owner to ask about the river pitches and he was very helpful, we took a walk down, it was lovely but we decided not to take our vans down there. There are porta loos, if you pay £15 a night, they have combination padlock, and assume you get the code if you book for it, can't comment on the cleanliness. Overall it was a fine stopover and we appreciated the rustic charm, the bottle bank could do with being emptied it was overloaded with lots of debris on the ground near bins, I don't know why responsible campers wouldn't take their recycling with them if there was no room in the bottle bin??
