we had wanted to visit Gigha for some time and our visit was everything we had hoped for. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and someone was on hand whenever we had questions. We didn't need to move our campervan once we were parked up on site due to the amazing network of paths across the island described on leaflets available at the campsite, which made it possible to explore everywhere on foot and by bike. The only reason I have given a score of 4, rather than 5 for location is because it is the busiest part of the island.

Tips for other travellers

It was a bit difficult to know exactly what shops/cafes, etc, would be open and when so we were glad we had come with some provisions and didn't have to rely purely on the one shop for everything. We had a nice meal in the Gigha Hotel and visited for drinks on a couple of occasions. We found an amazing range of baked goods which you could help yourself to, leaving payment in an "honesty box", on the way to Achamore Gardens. The gardens themselves were better than we had imagined and we visited on a number of occasions. Everyone we met on the island was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend Gigha as a great place to visit and would love to come back again.
