Fiona was so helpful throughout the entire process from booking, to arrival and suggestions on things to do / see. The cottage was fantastic. Beautiful setting and really homely and comfortable and had everything you need. The small touches were also great like a coffee machine and pods to cleaning products and bottled water provided. The log fire was ideal and the garden would be brilliant in the summer. We would definitely come back.

Tips for other travellers

We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 kids 8 and 12. There was a lovely walk a short drive away around a waterfall and also down to the Loch where there was a small stone beach which the kids loved. We were away for a quiet weekend so spent plenty of time in the cottage playing board games, however took a trip to the Kilchrenan Inn for lunch. The food was incredible and I was delighted to see a full draft line up of Fyne Ales beers, would highly recommend. We stopped in Inveraray for some food on the journey up as well which was great.

Fiona and Andy are always so welcoming, it's like coming home again to a special place.Always wonderful to see them. This is our 5th year at No.2, we will keep coming as often as we can. This is a beautiful well equipped cottage, in a wonderful location, so peaceful, neighbours are great, the view is wonderful and changes as the light changes. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage.

Tips for other travellers

We always visit Invarary, the town, castle and Jail are great to visit. Achnecarry, the Cameron Estate, with its spectacular beautiful waterfall Eas Chia Aig, and also Spean Bridge with the commando memorial. Fort William obviously Ben Nevis and the Ben Nevis Whisky Distillery, but also the Highland soap company. The Nevis Range Cable cars give spectacular views, if, like me, you can't climb a mountain, you can still go up one!Oban is also a good visit with the ferry to Mull and Iona, as well as good cafes and shops, and a wonderful museum. Argyll Pottery is a wonderful place, Hugh is always so welcoming, and the Racer Cafe next door has wonderful food. Glencoe and Ballachulish are also well worth a visit, the museum at Glencoe is set to reopen in 2027. Taynuilt has the wonderful Graham's Grocers where there is always service with a smile and wonderful welcome from Ian, with a good range of goods. If you are looking for a church, Muckairn Church in Taynuilt is very welcoming, service at 10am. This year we discovered St Conon's Kirk in Loch Awe, a historical building. Also Angus's Garden above Taynuilt is a wonderful place. So many garden centres, cafes, gardens, forests, walks, not forgetting Fyne Ales Brewery near Inverary. Kilchrennan Inn, the local pub, serves good food and has a good atmosphere, there is always something going on, this year we saw the flower festival in Taynuilt and the Arts Festival was on. Plenty to see and do in tha area.

We came from France and spent 3 nights at this cottage - it was just perfect ! And the owner - Fiona - is so reliable ! I recommend this place !

A truly idyllic country cottage in beautiful scenery. We are delighted to have returned to this lovely place which is not only thoughtfully furnished and equipped but spotlessly clean and with so many charming extras. We cannot wait to go back!

Tips for other travellers

The closest shop and cafe is a 10 minute drive away (it is small but charming) and nearest 'big shops are in Oban which is about 45 mins away. We brought groceries with us this time, which worked well and meant we could just chill. There is a circular 40 min walk past a waterfall which starts almost opposite the cottage.
