A lovely, friendly and well appointed hostel in a stunning location with lots of wildlife to watch - we’re pretty sure we saw a sea eagle circling. All the better for being off the beaten track and well worth the detour if cycling the Hebridean Way.

This is an excellent hostel that is clean and comfortable in a beautiful position overlooking the loch. I stayed in the shared dorm. The laundry area, shop, museum and cafe next door meant I had everything I needed to just relax after my time cycling the Hebridean way. Thank you to David for being so friendly and helpful with I needed to change my booking. It was all so good I immediately booked an extra night when I arrived.

I recommend the circular cycling route through marbhig, calbost and gravir with an off shot to cromore, it's very beautiful and peaceful. It is relatively hilly but very manageable especially if done clock-wise to avoid a steep section. Look out for a white booklet in the lounge with a walk that can be done directly from Kershader. It also has detailed information on the plants and birds you are likely to see along the way.
