We arrived at the hostel very very wet after a pretty disastrous first day in Lewis and a last minute booking into the hostel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and instantly turned that bad day around. The home made carrot and coriander soup from the cafe was a very welcome treat and I really would like the recipe! Then some delicious home baking for afterwards put a smile on my son’s faces. Having laundry facilities at such a reasonable price was ideal given our very soggy situation. The hostel is very comfortable, clean and in a beautiful setting but the best thing about it is definitely the people running it. Everyone was so friendly, you are all doing an exceptional job running this community centre.

A fantastic hostel which knowing that it is community run, and supports the museum, felt very good to support. Friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. Centrally located to get to all corners of the island.
