Our stay was excellent! We stopped here for one night as part of our Cumbria Way hike. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and kept us well informed about the logistics ahead of our arrival, the English breakfast was great (you need to try the home-made rhubarb jam!) and the room very cosy. We will definitely come back when hiking in the Lake District again.

Stayed here while doing the Cumbria Way. Of all the places we stayed I liked this the best. The lovely old cottage had so much character and was warm and cosy. The hostess was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent. There wasn't an en suite bathroom but instead two bathrooms with showers and one separate loo for 6 guests. We didn't mind that at all - it worked perfectly well. Wish there were more special places like this.

Lovely, cosy place. Very friendly host, best bed ever and superb breakfast. What more could you want! Was sorry to leave it behind on our Coast to Coast journey .

What an absolute gem of a place to stay! We were walking the Coast To Coast and Knotts View was well located, and only 50 yards from the local pub (where you can get a good meal). Inside was cosy and welcoming, and we spent a wonderful evening in the sitting room in front of an open fire while the rain poured down outside. Suzanne was a great host, everything was spotless, the breakfast was first class, and it was difficult to drag ourselves away into the driving rain the next day!
