The cottage was the best I've had, the only issue with the cottage frontage was residual water logged lawn, probably caused by the New herring bridge tidal restrictions at Gt Yarmouth, and there is nothing to be done about that

Thank you Tim for your fantastic review, and we look forward to your next visit. Being right alongside the river we do advise people to bring suitable shoes for wet and sometimes muddy conditions as the underground water table sometimes rises above the lowest parts of our surrounding landscaped gardens.

Location is perfect , although our intention was also to fish but due to excessive weed we were sadly unable to do this, we should of been notified this was the case before arriving especially as we booked last minute. We ,as like many others who would holiday here would highly go for the fishing so as previously mentioned we were VERY disappointed that we were unable to fish. However regarding the furniture and interior we feel that it needs updating : bed bases and mattresses need replacing, bathroom upgrade required , mould in many places on walls and ceilings, floor boards noisy , curtains need attention and blackout required, lack of sockets in each room, dripping taps in the kitchen, hole in the washing up bowl , although nice to have views from all rooms unfortunately overlooked from every window.

You stayed in Wherry Cottage. We are pleased you consider "location is perfect". 2 of you booked for a rare chance of a very short 2 night break.Regarding the fishing, perhaps you didn't have the chance to explore the 100ys of river front, and inlets into the main marina basin; all fishable but with variable weed depending on weather, season and river conditions. No other fishermen have reported this problem. Interestingly a brand new electric shower was fitted in bathroom the day before your stay. 2 of the beds had new mattresses last year. There is a black-out blind in the twin bedroom and another due to be installed soon in the double room. Each bedroom has 4 sockets. We have just installed a new microwave and air fryer with spare sockets in the kitchen and living room for laptops / phone charging etc. Being the end cottage of a row closest to the river it is the least "overlooked" cottage of the 20 along this river front with clear open views across and along the river from all sides. Perhaps you'll come again for a longer stay.

The cottage is a beautiful location and people i met were lovely. I know the cleaners so the very best they can but due to the old age of the furniture and bathroom and all the rooms it makes this very difficult. I would say its time for a refurbishment, and def new furniture, the beds in the 2nd bedroom are falling apart as are the sofas. New blinds as the curtains havr had better days Just needs reorganising, a spruce up and a good paints job and finish to a good standard . It does not look like its been updated since late 1990s early 2000. I really do love the cottage and these issues did not really bother my son and I , as we are happy to rough it, my other half IF she came would not be so delighted. Hope thats helps and thank you. Had a lovely time. Oh fyi the air bnb advert says dishwasher( which it does not have. All communication was perfect

Thank you for your positive comments, and guest recommendation. We continuously update Wherry Cottage in response both to guests’ feedback and to suit changing times and tastes. In summary this year we have added an air fryer, new microwave oven and cooker hood and replaced the living room fire with a brand-new flame effect fan heater, and new hearth. We have also added an extra drop-leaf table and chairs to the existing dining arrangements, also providing an additional desk for laptop, and with updated living room curtains. Last year we renewed all of the carpets to stairs and bedrooms, and new blinds in the twin bedroom and these beds also have brand new mattresses. Within the past two to five years, we have replaced downstairs carpets with modern wood floor and renewed both sofas with 2 new twin sofas of standard UK height. New stainless steel double oven and grill with ceramic glass top hob. We have installed new full-fibre high speed internet connection, and Freeview TVs in living room and both bedrooms. With our outside furniture this year we have replaced our old “pub style” picnic table and bench with new table and benches allowing easier access to seating, and added additional lighting for outdoor enjoyment.
