Super accommodation, very well appointed and comfortable. Warm welcome as always, and very nice to receive a welcome basket of bakery goods and fresh milk waiting in the fridge. Good central location on Orkney mainland, easy access in all directions. Highly recommended.

Orkney is jam packed with beautiful locations and sites of interest , worth taking time to peruse and plan using the excellent Charles Tait guide book at Rowan Cottage. We discovered the St. Magnus Community Cafe, opposite the Kirkwall Cathedral, this time, and it was excellent value and friendly welcome.

Rowan Cottage turned out to be ideal for our stay in Orkney. The location is central to all areas of the mainland, in a peaceful setting with a beautiful view from every window. We were made very welcome, and assistance was quickly given when we asked. It is spotless and very comfortably equipped.
