We’re a couple who live our lives by following the road less travelled. If you follow your sat-nav directions to Tŵr-Ffoledd, you will certainly do that. Follow Dee and Giles’ directions, not to do so will be folly. Talking of which; Tŵr-Ffoledd is a glorious example of an architectural folly, as defined by OED. We love it, quirky and unconventional. If you’re looking for corporate predictability, you’re going to be disappointed. If you’re looking for amazing creativity, imaginative use of space and materials, a location to die for, views to inspire and hosts with a genuine appreciation of life and how to live it; you’ll be heading to your home from home. I could say more, but I’ll leave that to you, the reader. Have fun, we did!

Tips for other travellers
If you can, bring food in an ice-box, there are shops nearby, but they have limited ranges. That said, the big supermarkets are not far away, in the larger towns. The fridge at Tŵr-Ffoledd is very small. There are loads of pubs and restaurants for food, most are dog friendly, we didn't get a chance to visit them (only there two nights), but your hosts will point you the way. The spa at the local Lake Country Hotel is a must, if that's your thing. Tŵr-Ffoledd is great place to read or to write (top floor), or just chill. Great internet and wi-fi, if you want to stay in touch with the outside world? If not; just switch it off! Bring your walking boots and your walking poles if you've got-'em!
